Born and raised in Calvert County, Maryland, Dr. Thomas O’Shea’s spirit for serving a close-knit, local community has been a lifetime dream of his. After graduating from DeMatha Catholic High School, he attended the University of Maryland College Park and earned a BS degree in Psychology. He received his DDS from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, and went on to complete a general practice residency program at the Veterans Affairs hospital in Washington D.C. Fast forward to today, and Dr. O’Shea makes his abode in the lovely coastal town of Chesapeake Beach with his wife and kids.
Outside of the office, you can find Dr. O’Shea enjoying the company of his loved ones. He met Rachel, his wife and fellow Calvert County native, while in high school. Together, they enjoy hiking, paddle boarding, and meandering the many trails of Southern Maryland with their daughter, Avery. Dr. O'Shea and his wife have a dream of starting an animal rescue called "Little Buddy's Animal Kingdom'' in memory of their rescue dog, Blitz.
What shines through Dr. O’Shea’s practice most is a passion for providing his community with a true family dental clinic built on compassion and honesty. He’s proud to bring St. Mary’s County families a space where they don’t have to fear dental visits, and equip patients with the knowledge they need for lifelong, healthy smiles. Jennifer is one of our dental hygienist. She was born and raised in Southern Maryland. After attending the college of southern Maryland for her associates, she received her Bachelors Degree of Science in Dental Hygiene from Old Dominion University in 2011. She is very passionate about her job! Jennifer and her husband, Mark, have two children, Noelle and Junuh. She enjoys trying new recipes and spending time outside as well as reading and learning new things.

Born and raised in St. Mary's, Maegan is happy to still live close to her family in Mechanicsville. Maegan received her Associates in Applied Science from Fortis College in 2016. She worked as a dental assistant for several years before pursuing dental hygiene school. Maegan's favorite thing about being a hygienist is building relationships with her patients, and getting to be a part of their health. Academy Dental Care is so special to her, going to work everyday is like getting to hang out with good friends. Maegan loves family life, and getting to be a mom to a perfect little boy. Her favorite thing to do is spend time with her family and friends.

Emily has been in Southern Maryland since 1994, when her family retired from the military. She got into the dental field by first filing paper charts while in high school at Academy Dental Care. She obtained her training at the College of Southern Maryland in 2010, and has since been working in the field. Emily’s favorite part about working at Academy Dental Care is the atmosphere with her team, and everyone coming together to give patient’s the best care possible. When Emily is not working she enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons.

Born and raised in St Mary’s County, Kayla joined our team in 2022. Kayla obtained her training at the College of Southern Maryland and has been working in the dental field ever since. Kayla’s favorite part about working at Academy Dental Care is making patients feel good about themselves and working with such a great team. She feels like going to work every day is like “getting to hang out with good friends while building relationships with patients”. Outside of work Kayla loves spending time with her family and being a mom to her perfect baby girl!
